Kindness Warrior

Kindness is Underrated

Kindness is the most underrated happiness pursuit. As humans, we are always searching for something that will satisfy our souls. That is why we decorate ourselves with precious jewelry and buy the most expensive house and cars. We tend to achieve happiness through the purchase of Material Items.

But very often, happiness from material things lasts only for a few minutes. Once the adrenaline rush is over, we are back to searching for how to satisfy our minds.

So what is the answer to this madness?

One of the answers could be found in, Random Acts of Kindness, most commonly known as RAK, helping people with your whole heart without expecting anything in return. The inner peace one achieves through this act outweighs all the material things in the world combined.

Supporting a fellow being can be more beneficial in attaining that inner peace that everyone runs after. Are you wondering how this is indeed possible? The answer is very simple. Our oxytocin increases when we are kind towards others, thereby lowering stress and anxiety. Oxytocin is the hormone that regulates emotions and social behaviors, and an increase in oxytocin means an increase in trust, empathy, and positivity. Increased trust and empathy with lower stress results in increased inner peace.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

That is why greater people who are serving as an inspiration till the day, like Mother Teresa, always focus on serving others instead of spending their time and effort on material things.

Good things come in small packets

I am Krrish, and I was introduced to Random Act of Kindness through my mother when I was nine years old. One of the most important things I learned through this journey is that it is not always necessary to spend a lot of money to spread kindness . Kindness lies in the smallest of activities one does for another in their day-to-day life.

My Mom challenged me to a 21-day kindness challenge where I had to do an act of kindness at least once a day. I accepted the challenge immediately, even though in the back of my mind, I was having doubts as to whether small acts of me would be appreciated. But I am glad I did not back away from my challenge. At the end of the 21 days, not only did I feel happier than ever, but I was greeted with big smiles from everyone.

The happiness from completing the challenge was a lot less when compared to the happiness I felt when I saw the beautiful smiles of everyone. The smile that made my whole world better. Even though it felt like a small act on my part, it meant a whole lot to the people on the receiving end.

This challenge made me realize there is a lot more to life than living a busy, hectic life and surrounding ourselves with material items. It brought responsibility in me to spread awareness of Kindness and help people experience this happiness and peace by making them take up this challenge. The world will be a better place if everyone becomes a Kindness warrior.

Kindness Warrior

21 steps of 21 days kindness challenge ✌️

Although we have all been taught to be kind to one another from an early age, many people might think the Random Act of Kindness is a difficult thing to do in our daily life. So let me give you a sample of a Random Act of Kindness that can be done in a 21-day challenge.

The below-mentioned kindness acts are being done by me and have become a part of my lifestyle. I have mentioned them so that you could realize Kindness is not a tiresome act but a refreshing one.

  1.    Buy a beverage or food for a homeless person, and it will not only fill their stomach but will rekindle their faith in humanity.
  2.   Feed a stray dog or a cat. Often these are unattended and not fed properly. Feeding them will bring such a lot  of happiness to you, even if you are not a cat/dog person.
  3.    Spend time with your loved ones. Yes, even this activity forms part of a Random Act of Kindness. Often we tend to lose perspective of what is essential and start taking things for granted. So Today, make time for your loved ones and make them feel appreciated.
  4. Give a Thank You card to a doctor who is selflessly treating his patients despite the deadly pandemic, making his day a bit happier than before.
  5. Leave an appreciative comment on the social media platform of budding entrepreneurs and motivate them.
  6. Be a friend to everyone you meet. You never know what someone goes through. Even a smaller act of kindness can help someone to a greater extent.
  7. Spend time with an elderly person whenever you can. The wisdom offered by them and their gracious smile will make your soul happy.
  8. Express Gratitude always. It will make you feel thankful for all that you have got in life. The attitude of Gratitude will make you move places.
  9. Be mindful of our Mother Earth and make sure you do not throw garbage on her. Whenever you find trash on your streets make sure to pick them up and dump them in the trash can. A neat and healthy environment is a peaceful environment.
  10. Make a donation to wildlife protection as you could save a lot of animals. Even a small contribution from your side will help them in the long run.
  11. Open your heart and mind to new sources of learning. An educated person is a boon to his environment.
  12. Help your teachers and mentors in any way you can, for they have dedicated their entire lives to spreading knowledge.
  13. Whenever you see someone working hard under the sun, try offering them water or a cold beverage.
  14. Give water to the delivery person who drives miles to serve you food on time and give them good feedback in the respective app.
  15. Send a handmade card to a kid who is staying in a hospital.
  16. Make someone’s day shine brighter by offering them candies.
  17. Every word that comes out of your mouth has a greater impact. Be mindful to speak in a kind tone.
  18. Gift a book with a special note to your friends. A person who reads has the potential to conquer the world.
  19. Volunteer in Ashrams and old age homes and spread kindness. These places offer more love than anything in the whole wide world.
  20. Be a secret Santa always and surprise your loved ones whenever you can.
  21. Above all, be kind to yourself, for everything begins from within.
